Christmas In The Sun

For the first time ever I shall be spending the festive season somewhere hot, hot, hot. And this pleases me. This afternoon I begin the journey with my lovely girlfriend Michelle as we head to Perth, Australia (via Dubai) to visit her dearest mummy, who she loves dearly. From today, no longer will I have to wear two pairs of socks, huge boots, a t-shirt, jumper, hoodie, jacket, scarf, hat and other stuff simply to get to the shop and back. Forecasters say the snowing will resume on Thursday, and I won’t be disappointed to miss it.

I will be disappointed to miss the holiday celebrations with my bestest buds, but they don’t blame me for getting as far away as possible. Well, except Mark, who is very possessive. Christmas and Hogmanay is always a grand time with friends – y’know, drunkenly filming tasteful Phil O’ Donnell tributes, drinking toxic sludge from basins, chugging down piss-tasting beer from giant glass vases, spilling the rest of the booze over Ewan’s floor (R.I.P. Alternative HQ), and then staggering down to the WORLD FAMOUS Stonehaven Swinging Fireballs Ceremony Thing. Nope, it will all be very different this time around. I will be my own personal flaming fireball.

So anyway, I’m packed and ready to go. I have plenty to read and I have also found my Game Boy Advance which I only seem to bust out every three years. Stay tuned because, if I have time, you’ll be seeing a super special gig review on this very site next week!

In the meantime, have an awesome Christmas and a Happy New Year. Even if it does freeze your balls off :)
